Alright, let’s just get in to this. These are a great custom option for solar type shades. They let light in and keep heat out. You will be able to see in to the house at night with an interior light on, so keep that in mind. Here’s the issue, persilux takes 1.75 inches off of the fabric width. It’s a lot and will give you a big ol’ gap on the sides. I wanted these shades as tight as possible to the inside of the window. I got the first round of shades and they were waaaaay too short (window width wise). They looked ridiculous. So back I go to persilux and bless them, they replaced them free of charge. It took quite a bit of emailing back and forth, but we finally got it right. I did have to fib on measurements to make sure they fit on the inside of my windows. They really want to scalp those shades to make sure the go in, it’s not a good look.If you want the shades to fit tight within the inside of your windows, add an additional 1/2 inch (.5) to the inside measurement of your window. For example, if the actual measurement of your window is 46 7/8, give persilux the measurement of 47 3/8, they will subtract 1.75 inches off giving you around .6 inches on each side of clearance for hardware. You can also remove the plastic tab for a bit more wiggle room. Even on the installation packet it says they have a +\- .2 inch width tolerance, why they take off 1.75 inches is beyond me.Edit to say: add to the measurement for a snug fit if you are doing an inside mount without the valence.Bought these solar shades to protect living room furniture from rays of the summer sun. They're not too sheer or too opaque, and were easy to install. The stainless steel pull chain on each shade makes it easy to open & close the shade to change between a fully exposed view or translucent view... (vs. sliding sheer draperies back & forth over a rod). The value of these shades is excellent! I bought these 3 Persilux shades for 1/3 the price I paid for custom solar shades in another room! It was easy and we still love them. The brass-plated flat head wood screws provided with the shades were wonky and since the brackets show, I decided to switch them out with Hillman #8 x 1” pan head steel sheet metal screws from Ace Hardware…much cleaner appearance! (see photos) I did need to drill a pilot hole first since sheet metal screws have a different point. Pan head wood screws are available, but I would have had to order them and I wanted to get the shades up now.I am so pleased with the fabric. Other products I’ve looked at were very plastic in feel and appearance. These feel like finely woven fabric. The hardware is lovely. They were made and delivered in 12 days. The cost will be less than half that of a local retailer. We’ll be ordering them for the remaining windows of our home.Love these shades!Very nice shadesGreat quality as advertised.
